Message from the Captain and the Council

Opening Day – Saturday 6th April 2019

Dear Members

As Saturday approaches I am sure that you are all looking forward to the start of the competitive golf season. Our Vice Captain, Liam Maguire, has assured me that good weather has been booked for Saturday and that the entry sheet is almost full.

Over the winter there have been many course improvement projects completed and some are still ongoing. These will no doubt enhance the experience of our members and the guests who play the course. The feedback from the winter players on these projects has been positive and encouraging, and therefore praise goes to Phil Montgomery and his greenkeeping staff, aided and guided by Alan Robertson our Greens Convenor.

A couple of notes to our members as we start the season:

SPEED OF PLAY – please think about speed of play and set the tone for the season ahead. Think about the previous initiatives and enjoy your play;

MEMBERSHIP FEES – some members have still to confirm their membership and pay their fees – please ensure this is concluded prior to Saturday to avoid any disappointment of non-play. If you are unsure whether you fall into this category, please contact the Secretary who can confirm and assist as appropriate.

Thank you all for your positive support. More importantly, I hope you enjoy your forthcoming golfing season. It’s your Club – promote it & play it.
